Abbeville Christmas Stroll – 2011

On Thursday, December 1st, 2011, hundreds of people participated in the annual Abbeville Christmas Stroll.  Downtown businesses opened their doors to large crowds of people to “begin” the Christmas season in Abbeville.  Businesses remained open until 8:00 pm for shoppers and provided food or treats and Christmas music.

Each year, The Caldwell House is happy to be a participant in this unique Christmas activity.

Hundreds of people drove or walked from Downtown Abbeville to The Caldwell House.  The home was decorated inside and out and guests walked throughout the house on a self-guided tour, then proceeded outside onto the side porch and under the West Garden Pavilion for coffee and treats, to sit and rest awhile on the rockers, or take pictures under the pavilion by our raindeer display.

New decorations added this year were Christmas trees in every bedroom, decorated according to the theme of the room.  The dining room, parlor and study were also decorated with a trees.

A large Christmas tree adorned the main parlor and offered a perfect photo spot for pictures.

The banister posts on the stairs were decorated with poinsettia, ornaments, ribbon and lights.

A photo spot was set under the West Garden Pavilion and featured deer in the snow.

Each year, The Caldwell House holds a drawing and one lucky person who visits The Caldwell during the Christmas Stroll wins a free overnight stay in the Morning Glory suite, which includes a gourmet breakfast the next morning.  Congratulations to the winner of this year’s drawing!

Caldwell House staff who worked the Christmas Stroll hope to you see you again in 2012!
